Technical Theatre Specialist

Sallie B. Howard School of Arts and Science — a K-12 National Blue Ribbon public charter school in Wilson, NC – has an immediate opening for a Technical Theatre Specialist.

The teacher should have an expertise in the technical aspects of theatre to instruct a class of combined middle school grades and lead/supervise them on the production and management of school plays, musicals, recitals, and dance productions. The candidate should be organized, meticulous, and prepared to work with a large team of arts teachers. Maintaining the theater spaces is also an important part of the job.

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre or Theatre Education with knowledge in set design and construction, theatre lighting and technology, scenery, costuming, props and sound.

A NC theatre arts teaching license and experience/willingness in teaching at the K-12 grade level is a plus.
