Sallie B. Howard School will begin the 2020-2021 school year with 100% remote learning until October 6, 2020, the end of the 1st quarter. School leaders will continue to assess when it is safe to return to in-person instruction and will notify parents accordingly.
All classes will be conducted via Zoom and Google Classroom.All students are eligible to borrow a device and a WiFi hotspot to attend online classes and submit assignments remotely.
To attend a class on Zoom, visit www.zoom.us and click on ‘Join a meeting.’ Then enter your teacher’s meeting ID as given below.

Sallie B. Howard School will loan a device to each registered student in need of a device for the 2020-2021 school year.
Before borrowing a device, please read the following rules:

After you join the network, you’ll see next to the network and in the upper-left side of your display or the upper right corner.
The iPad will now be connected to WIFI and can be used as instructed by the student’s teacher.
Infraction | Consequence |

Failure to log into class | Not logging into class within the first 5 minutes of class is counted as an absence. Parents are notified on Remind by teacher and by automatic robo call message. After 3 absences a mandatory parent/student/principal conference will be required before student is allowed to return to class. |
Late/tardy logging into class | Students failing to log into class on time, will be recorded as tardy. Parents will be notified on Remind that student was late entering class. After receiving 3 tardies a mandatory parent/student/principal conference will be required before student is allowed to return to class. |
Inappropriate images displayed (intentional) | 1-3 day suspension 1st offense and mandatory parent/student/principal meeting. 2nd offense carries 3-5 day suspension and mandatory parent/student/principal meeting. |
Inappropriate images displayed (Unintentional) | 1st offense parent/student conference with principal. 2nd offense student/parent conference with principal and a possible 3-5 days suspension. |
Misbehavior/disruption during online class | Student removed from class immediately, parent notified through remind by teacher. Three removals from class will result in mandatory parent/student/principal conference and suspension from school. |
Cyber bullying | 1st offense carries 3-5 day suspension, notify parent, mandatory principal conference; 2nd offense carries 5-10 day suspension, mandatory parent/student/principal conference. |
Inappropriate materials submitted to teacher | 1-3 day suspension possible, notify parents, mandatory parent/student/principal meeting |
Inappropriate language by student/parent | Remove student from class, notify parent, 1-3 day suspension as appropriate, mandatory parent/student/principal conference. |

Leaving the class without permission | Leaving the class without teacher permission will be recorded as an absence. In case of an emergency situation student must notify the teacher through private chat before leaving. |

There are two ways you can pick up school meals during remote instruction:
AT A BUS STOP
Monday – Friday: 3:00PM
Drivers will remain at stop until meals last.
AT SCHOOL
Monday – Friday: 9:30AM – 2:00PM
School will be open to pick up food curbside.
