Sallie B. Howard School for the Arts and Education has immediate openings for qualified candidates to fill the following four (4) teaching positions beginning the 2nd quarter (Oct. 14) of the 2019-2020 school year:

Successful candidates will hold a NC teaching license in ELA or Math and demonstrate the following:

Teaching responsibilities include:

Submitting lesson plans weekly
Attending professional development trainings, weekly PLS meetings, and grade level team meetings
Entering grades weekly into PowerSchool database
Scheduling and conducting parent teacher conference meetings
Maintaining contact with parents using Remind texting app
Supervising students
Performing morning duty assignments
Submitting daily attendance on PowerSchool
and other routine duties as needed

SBHS has operated a successful public charter school since 1997. We serve a diverse population of over 1,000 K-8 students on a single-track year-round schedule. We teach common core standards to mastery and have earned a school performance grade of B for three consecutive years. We are currently completing construction to open a high school of biotechnology and fine arts in August 2020. We offer competitive salary and benefits based on experience and education.
