Safety & Security

At Sallie B. Howard School, your child’s safety and security are amongst our greatest priorities. We have several safety and security measures in place to prevent dangerous situations from arising.

Monitored Visitor Access – While you will find the front office area open during school hours, visitors can only access each building on campus by being escorted through campus or “buzzed-in” at our security doors.

24-Hr Locked Security Doors – Since 2010, SBHS has had locked security doors with entry gained only through electronic card access devices.

Security Cameras Throughout the Campus – Surveillance cameras provide 24-Hr monitoring of our entire property.

On-Site Law Enforcement Officers – Wilson County Sheriff Deputies patrol our facilities on a daily basis.

COVID-19 – We’ve implemented protocols such as mandatory masking, temperature checks, sanitizing products and air purifiers in all classrooms, in-house school nurses, vaccination clinics and more. Read here for more details.
