SBHS has operated a successful public charter school since 1997. We serve a diverse population of over 1,200 K-12 students on a single-track year-round schedule. 

We are a high-performing school and earned a 2021 National Blue Ribbon School Award from the U.S. Dept of Education for “Excellence in Closing the Achievement Gap.” We teach common core standards to mastery and have earned a school performance grade of B for three consecutive years. 

In August 2020, we opened the SBH High School of Arts and Science which serves students in grades 9-12.
